All activities are completely optional

Roller skating is the heart of this retreat. We’ll skate together in beautiful open-air spaces, focusing on creativity, control, and connection. Whether you’re here to improve your technique or just to enjoy the feeling of movement, every session is about exploring what roller skating means to you. There’s no pressure to perform, just space to grow, express, and enjoy the ride.

Masterclasses

The group masterclasses will be led by Amy, each with a clear focus and intention. Whether it’s unlocking a new technique, improving flow, or spinning workshops. These workshops will be planned out and taught in stages to help improve skill progression and execution!

Open Sessions

During these sessions, skaters are encouraged to bring their own goals. Whether you’re working on spins, transitions, flow, or something totally unique to your style. Amy will move independently through the space, offering tailored coaching based on what you’re working on.

Danielle Lockwood

After many requests to run a retreat with the amazing Danielle, I have listened. And yes, she’ll be joining us for our unforgettable week in paradise!

Danielle and I have known of each other for many years, starting off as secret admirers online. But it wasn’t until Danielle came to Bali this year that the admiration turned into true friendship.

Danielle will be teaching group technique classes and dance choreography, plus bringing her incredible energy to the whole retreat. Whether you’re new to her style or have been following her for years, you’re going to fall in love with her on and off skates.

During the retreat, you’ll have the chance to step beyond the skating space and experience the wild beauty of the island. Whether it’s chasing the sunrise up Mount Batur, or surfing Bali’s famous waves, these adventures are all about freedom, play, and feeling fully alive in nature’s playground.

It wouldn’t be a true Bali trip without a surfing lesson or two! While this might not be everyone’s idea of a good time, we will have the best local instructors on hand to help you catch your very first wave.

Do I have to do everything on the schedule?

There are always other options! If the group heads out for something like surfing, we’ll have cozy alternatives back at the villa, like massage therapists on-site or space to relax in peace.

And if you’d prefer to head home early, we’ll happily book you a taxi back. Every part of this retreat is designed to give you freedom, whether you’re feeling adventurous or more in the mood to unwind.

Is there free time in the schedule?

Absolutely. The itinerary includes built-in downtime every day. Whether that’s for journaling, floating in the pool, or grabbing a quiet coffee at the in-villa resturant.

You can even leave the villa and head into Canggu central if you feel like it!

Is the schedule packed or relaxed?

We’ve designed it to be full of opportunities but never overwhelming. There’s a beautiful flow to the week, with plenty of space between each session or trip. You’ll feel supported, not rushed.

What if I get tired or sick?

Your wellbeing comes first. We’ll have transport available if you need to head back to the villa early at any point, and Amy and the team are always nearby if you need help, rest, or a check-in. Everything can be adjusted on the day.

Do I have to be an advanced skater for the skate activities?

No — but a confident foundation is essential. You should be comfortable skating forward, turning corners, and stopping. The skate classes are designed for low-intermediate and up. If you ever want to sit one out, that’s totally okay too.

A open invitation for extra adventure!

This is not part of the official retreat.

Over the last three years, I’ve travelled the entire island at least five times. My favourite trip, one I take often, is driving up to Lovina to swim with the dolphins, then heading over to Menjangan Island to snorkel the coral reefs. It’s my go-to escape when I need to reconnect with nature and clear my head from the buzz of Canggu. And it’s exactly what I’ll be doing after our wild retreat week. I’ve taken many people on this adventure, and I’d be honoured if you’d like to join me for an extra couple of days so I can show you the real Bali.

But just so you know… it’s simple, soulful, and a little off the beaten path. The kind of trip that leaves a lasting mark. It’s for the kind of person who doesn’t mind trading comfort for connection, and maybe a few unforgettable sunrises along the way.

Before you say yes…

This is not luxury. Bali is a developing country, and this trip is about travelling, not holidaying. The hotels will be simple and locally run, the road trip will be long, and the experiences will be real, raw, and beautiful in a different kind of way.

This is not a retreat-extension, it's just a personal adventure that Amy loves to do. Which she is inviting you to join, if you wish.

But it's no luxurious event.

If you choose to join, here’s what to expect:

  • The accommodation will be simple, clean, and local. No villas, no frills.
  • There will be a fair bit of driving, including long stretches through the mountains.
  • Expect early mornings, a slower pace, and an open, go-with-the-flow kind of energy.
  • Meals will be at small local restaurants. Not roadside warungs, but also not 5-star dining. Amy will do her best to choose spots with Western-friendly options where possible.

There’s a rough itinerary, but no pampering. Just good people, honest travel, and a raw, refreshing side of Bali that most visitors never see.

You’re warmly invited — as long as you know what you’re saying yes to!

How do we get there?

Amy and crew will be riding motorbikes up north, and you’re welcome to do the same if you already have bike experience and a license.

For everyone else, a private drivercan be arranged (4 guests per vehicle) to keep things easy and affordable.

How long is the trip?

The trip will last 5 days / 4 nights. We will have a day inbetween when the retreat ends and the side-quest adventure begins. There’s no real structure, just an open invitation to travel a more 'wild' side of Bali with Amy and friends!

How much will this cost?

Because we’re heading to a much more local part of Bali, everything is surprisingly affordable (especially compared to Canggu prices).

The trip is not-for-profit and there are no extra charges.

You’ll just pay for your own costs, and Amy will organise everything to keep it smooth and simple.

Estimated total: £500–£700 GBP ($775–$900 USD)

This covers accommodation, transport, activities, and food, with no hidden extras or planning fees.

Just real travel, arranged by someone who knows the way.

Amy will arrange the Afterglow trip closer to the time and payments can be made then.

What will I do with my belongings?

Think of this as a little backpacking adventure. If you want to tag along, bring a backpack and only the essentials for a few days. Amy will take care of the rest. Your main luggage, skates, and anything you don’t need will be stored safely in a secure location for the duration of the trip.

What’s on the itinerary?

The plan includes a dolphin tour at sunrise, snorkeling around Menjangan Island, waterfall swims, and dinners at Amy’s favourite local beachfront spots. She’s done this trip many times and knows exactly where to go, where to stay, and what’s worth doing.

What happens after?

It’s the end of the road! Goodbyes and au revoirs. We’ll all meet at a final location to share one last meal together, where you’ll also be reunited with your luggage. From there, transport to the airport or your next destination can be arranged if needed.

How do I sign up for the Afterglow?

This isn’t part of the official retreat and is much more relaxed. Amy will need a rough idea of numbers to make planning easier. It’s recommended that you opt in at least 30 days before the retreat starts so she can get things in motion without too much last-minute stress.

More info will be released closer to the time, and a Stripe link will be sent out to those who opt in to cover accommodation and travel costs (not including food or drinks).

That said, if you decide during the retreat that you’d love to come along, you’re still very welcome to. Just let Amy know as soon as possible so she can adjust the plans.

Lovina, Bali

Lovina is a wonderfully quiet beach town on the northern coast of the island. To get there we will drive through the mountains, by motorcycle or car, through the winding mountains and thick jungle.

Lovina is famous for its wild dolphins and bioluminescence oceans. There are not many tourists who venture this far north, which means the prices are astonishingly affordable and the experience is authentic.

Locals are happy to see you, and nature is all around.

There is a reason that this is Amy’s favourite place.
